Merfolk Mistbinder

A tribal lord split in half. The classic mono-blue anthem stacked its +1/+1 boost and islandwalk onto a single body; this design keeps the stat pump, drops the evasion keyword entirely, and moves the whole thing into green-blue. The trade is not about stacking (any pair of non-legendary lords stacks): it is about redundancy and color. Splitting the effect across two colors lets a Merfolk deck run more copies of the same anthem effect than a single-color list could support, so the +1/+1 becomes a resource you flood the board with rather than a keyword you hide behind. That redundancy is the answer to the design's central tension. A 2/2 that pumps the rest of the team is a removal magnet, because killing it shrinks everything around it, and the card offers its owner no protection at all: no hexproof, no evasion, nothing to keep it off the top of the opponent's target list. The deck is built to absorb that. When one copy dies, the clock resets rather than breaks, because another version of the same anthem is one draw away. It belongs to a long line of lords that reward going wide and punish going tall, and it distills that lineage to its harshest form: pure anthem on a fragile frame, entirely dependent on whether you can deploy enough small Merfolk fast enough to make the boost matter before the body carrying it gets answered.
