Master of the Feast
Three mana for a 5/5 flier is a rate that demands a tax, and the tax here is the loudest kind: every opponent gets a fresh card at the start of each of your turns. The body is the whole pitch, an evasive clock that ends games fast enough to matter before the card advantage you're handing out catches up. In a duel the symmetry is brutal: you feed a single opponent one card a turn while swinging for five in the air, betting your flier closes before their extra draws assemble an answer. The drawback scales the wrong way in multiplayer, where the gift multiplies across the table, but the body stays exactly as efficient. Black has always paid for oversized stat lines with a recurring cost, whether that's Phyrexian Arena bleeding life for cards or the classic drawback beaters that hand the opponent resources: what separates this one is that the cost isn't optional and isn't yours to spend. It's an upkeep trigger you can't sandbag, fire only when convenient, or shut off without removing your own threat. The deck that wants it is the deck that intends to be dead-or-alive before the drawn cards become live, which makes it a pure aggression test: keep the pressure lethal and the gift never gets to be spent.
