Marchesa's Infiltrator

Creature — Human Rogue2 generic manaBlue mana

A Curiosity stapled to a body that grows itself into relevance. The trick is the interplay between its two abilities: it draws on combat damage like a long line of unblockable-adjacent card-advantage creatures, but dethrone solves the problem those creatures usually have, which is that a 1/1 connects exactly once before defenses adjust. By rewarding attacks at the table's healthiest player, the +1/+1 counter accrues precisely where multiplayer life totals tend to climb, so the body that started too small to matter ends up large enough to demand an answer or trade through chump blockers. The design reads as a political pressure valve dressed as a value engine: dethrone makes the leader the natural target, and the card-draw rider turns the swing into a tax the leader pays in tempo and information. It does nothing the turn it arrives and folds to any removal a defender holds up, which is the cost of putting a repeatable draw trigger on a one-drop-sized creature for this price. Dethrone never produced many cards that mattered outside their home environment, but this one captures the keyword's intent cleanly: it does not punish the leader for being ahead so much as it grows by attacking into the gradient of life totals, then converts that attack into a card the moment it lands.
