Mana Severance

Sorcery1 generic manaBlue mana

A library-thinning tool built backwards from the usual logic: instead of digging for lands, it lets you remove lands from the deck, exiling any number of them to make future draws more likely to be spells. The design is pure combo-engine plumbing, written for decks that have already assembled enough mana and want their library to stop offering blanks. It pairs naturally with any effect that draws a wall of cards or loops the top of the deck, since a landless library converts every subsequent draw into gas. The catch is total and built into the spell itself: once those lands are exiled, they are gone for the game, so casting this is a one-way bet that you no longer need to make a land drop. That self-destructive clause is the cost the spell extracts, turning a card that would otherwise be a free upgrade to every draw step into a commitment you can only make once the game is nearly decided. The card treats the contents of your own library as a resource to be sculpted rather than a random pile to draw from, and the sorcery-speed restriction means the sculpting happens on your own time, before the payoff turn rather than in response to anything.
