Makindi Ox

Creature — Ox4 generic manaWhite mana

Most landfall payoffs spend tempo forward: a token, a burst of trample, a point of damage. This one turns the trigger sideways into crowd control, tapping a creature the opponent controls every time a land you control enters. The taps have no cost and no cap, so a deck built to slam a second land or run a handful of cheap fetch effects can tap down two attackers or two blockers per turn cycle without ever spending a card on the effect. The value is not the board it builds but the combat math it edits: a blocker pinned down before your alpha strike, a mana creature or activated threat denied on your own turn, an untapped attacker held out of a race for the moment you need it gone. Read the timing carefully, because it defines the tool. The tap resolves when a land enters, which usually means your turn, and the creature untaps normally during the opponent's next untap step. This is not a lock; it is a same-turn intervention. The strongest window is your own combat: drop a land in your first main phase, tap the profitable blocker, then swing into open ground. Trying to use it as defense against the opponent's attack asks you to have a land drop waiting on their turn, which most decks do not. The 4/4 body at five mana is the fair part of the bargain: a reasonable rate rather than a bomb, doing nothing the turn it arrives.
