The swing in creature form: an effect that had previously lived on an artifact, now bolted to a tappable, sacrificeable body. The job is savage and simple: drop your own life total to a number you would happily give away, then trade totals with someone richer. Everything about the package is built around that exchange. The 4/2 body is fragile by design, the cost steep enough that you have a turn or two to bleed yourself out, and the sacrifice clause means the wizard is gone the instant the swap fires. The upkeep restriction is the real lock. You cannot ambush a player in response to their last-second lifegain, and you cannot fire it on their turn to claw back damage you just took. You commit during your own upkeep, with the table watching, and you live or die on whether your number is genuinely worse than theirs. That window is the whole design tension. Lean it into a self-damage shell and it becomes the back half of a two-card kill; play it honestly and it is a 4/2 that telegraphs its intentions a full turn early and dies to a stiff breeze before the upkeep comes around. The lineage is the point more than the rate: converting a symmetrical life-swap into a permanent gives a deck a second body for an effect otherwise stranded on burn-out spells, and asks you to build a board where handing your opponent your worst total is the best thing you can do.
