Mageta's Boon

Enchantment — Aura1 generic manaWhite mana

Flash on an aura is the design idea worth pausing on, because it rewrites how the card behaves on the stack. Most pump enchantments sit at sorcery speed, telegraphing the buff a turn before it matters; the flash here lets the buff arrive mid-combat, after blockers are declared, as if it were a combat trick that happens to stick around afterward. That dual nature is the whole pitch: spend it as an instant-speed surprise to win a block, and keep the permanent +1/+2 once the dust settles. The +2 toughness is the load-bearing number, since it lets an enchanted creature survive the very exchange the flash bought into and carry the upgrade into every fight after. An aura is the cleanest demonstration of why the keyword changes the math: the permanence that normally makes auras too slow to play around stops being a liability when you can deploy it at the moment of greatest leverage. The cost is the catch that keeps it honest: an aura still eats a card and still risks getting two-for-one'd if the creature dies in response, so the flash is buying timing, not card advantage. It belongs to a brief early-era experiment with flash on permanents, an attempt to ask what aggressive instant-speed play looks like when the surprise leaves something behind on the board.
