Mad Prophet

Creature — Human Shaman3 generic manaRed mana

Discard-to-draw has a long lineage of cheap creature enablers, Merfolk Looter chief among them: two-drops that sit back and tap for value turn after turn, asking you to deploy them early and grind. This one pays a steeper mana price and a bigger frame for one thing those loopers cannot offer, which is haste. Because the rummage lives on a tap, the classic looter drawback is a wasted first turn on the battlefield while summoning sickness ties up the ability; here the filter comes online the moment it lands. That does not make it faster than the two-drops on a clean curve, since those begin tapping earlier in the game; the trade is that it skips the idle turn entirely and can start digging the moment you have four mana. The tap is also the friction: looting and attacking draw from the same resource, so each turn you choose between digging and swinging rather than both. The 2/2 body is no combat threat and will lose fights to cheaper creatures, so haste functions less as a clock than as an occasional pressure valve when the board is empty. The real pitch is repeatable filtering under a single tap, no mana beyond the discard, smoothing draws and pitching cards that play better from the graveyard than the hand. It belongs where the bin wants fuel and each rummage feeds something downstream.
