Most Equipment starts inert: a card in hand waiting on a legal creature and a spare equip cost before it does anything. This one arrives already wearing itself. Job select spawns a 1/1 Hero the moment it enters and staples the Arsenal to it, so the card counts itself as one of your artifacts and begins stacking its own bonus from the first cast. That +2/+2 for each artifact you control is not a fixed reward but a curve that steepens as the board fills. Every mana rock, every artifact token, every other piece of Equipment widens the buff, which makes this the payoff an artifact deck builds toward rather than another cog inside it. The Machina equip cost is the counterweight. At four mana and sorcery speed only, moving the Arsenal to a fresh threat after its Hero dies burns a full turn of tempo, so reattachment is never the cheap insurance most Equipment offers: keeping the creature alive is the cheaper line. Granting the Artificer type to whatever it sits on is the quiet hook, a typal thread aimed squarely at the artifact-matters archetypes this was built to feed. What separates it from most Equipment is that it is self-priming: it needs nothing else on the table to start working, and every machine you add afterward compounds what it is worth.
