Machine Man, Model X-51

Legendary Artifact Creature — Robot Hero4 generic mana

The clever part is that growth and evasion ride a single trigger rather than being two effects you assemble. Every noncreature cast both grows the body and lifts the robot skyward, so the turn you are spending mana is the same turn the accumulated damage can actually connect. The flight expiring at end of turn is the load-bearing restriction: this is not a persistent evasive threat sitting on the board demanding an answer, but a clock that ticks live only while your hand is emptying. On a quiet turn, the 2/3 is grounded and unremarkable; on a busy one, each cheap instant or noncreature artifact simultaneously deepens the counter total and clears the flight path in the same window. That binds the entire payoff to tempo instead of a static board state, and it means the deck around it wants a high noncreature density so the counters pile up and the alpha strike arrives together. The body starts deliberately small because the card is not a beater you protect but an engine you feed one spell at a time, asking to helm a spellslinger-leaning build where every combat step is only as threatening as the volume of spells you can chain into it.
