Lure
Most green tricks of the Alpha era pumped a creature and hoped the opponent blocked badly; this one removes the choice entirely and turns every legal defender into a forced participant. The design is structurally unusual even now: it does not target the blockers and does not care about their abilities. It simply rewrites the declare-blockers step for one attacker, forcing every creature able to block the enchanted creature to do so. That "able" clause is doing more work than it looks: evasion on the enchanted creature shrinks the pool, since flying or landwalk means only the handful of creatures that could legally block get dragged into the fight. The opponent's counterplay runs through the usual answers: instant-speed removal or bounce, tapping the attacker, or simply having no creatures on the battlefield when the attack happens. Pair Lure with a high-power body and the forced blockers all die at once; pair it with deathtouch and enough power to assign at least 1 damage to each, and the math turns genuinely absurd, since damage parceled across the whole defending board kills every creature it reaches. That deathtouch interaction did not exist as a meaningful design lever in 1993, and the card has aged into something more interesting than it was at printing as the rest of the color pie grew toward it. Subsequent printings (Provoke, the various "must block if able" creatures) have all carved smaller versions of the same effect, usually with a target restriction or a one-shot clause. The aura version, permanent and unconditional, is where the idea sits in its purest form.
