Lunar Rejection
Two mana buys a hyper-narrow Unsummon: bounce a Wolf or Werewolf, draw a card, done. That base rate is deliberately embarrassing outside the one archetype it names, which is exactly the trade the card is built to offer. Pay the alternative cost, though, and the square-bracketed restriction disappears, leaving a four-mana bounce-with-cantrip that touches any creature on the board. The trick is that neither version is a trap: against the tribe it hoses, you get a burn-speed tempo swing; against everything else, you hold a clunkier but universal answer you were never dead-drawing. Cleave here folds a cheap-but-narrow card and an expensive-but-broad card into a single slot, doing the structural work that split cards and kicker have done in other eras. The deckbuilder never has to commit to one half at construction; the pilot commits at instant speed, with the stack and board fully resolved in front of them. That timing is the point. A conditional-target bounce spell wants to make its cost choice with maximum information, and casting at instant speed means the decision waits until the moment a Werewolf flips, a combat trick lands, or the opponent taps out, whichever tells you which version of the card you actually needed to hold.
