The interesting thing is what that costs. A 4/4 flying for six in a color would be embarrassing, but colorlessness is the whole pitch here, since this attacks and blocks in the air regardless of what mana you have access to, which is the trade artifact creatures of this style make. The era that produced it leaned on these unconditional bodies as a fallback for decks short on real threats, the way simple artifact fliers had filled curve slots before. There is no engine to build around and no window to exploit; the card does precisely what its mana value and evasion suggest, and the rate is the entire conversation. It is a baseline against which more pointed artifact fliers get measured, valuable mostly as a reminder that "castable in any deck" carries a tax, and that the tax for a colorless 4/4 in the air, in this design lineage, was set at six.
