The draw trigger fires whenever artifact creatures enter, combat or not, so its natural home is a go-wide token engine that floods the board across turns. The damage-prevention clause pulls the opposite way: it only matters once those bodies attack. Normally an artifact creature that swings into an open board trades or dies, but here your metal army crashes in for free, keeping the squadron intact against blockers and defending power alike. So you want bodies entering every turn to feed the card draw, and you want to send those same bodies into combat safely to close games. What keeps the draw engine from spiraling is the once-per-turn cap: dump a dozen tokens onto the battlefield in a single turn and you still see exactly one card, which reorients the payoff toward a steady stream of artifacts rather than one explosive dump. On a 2/4 for three, the body stays out of the way and lets the text carry the card. This is a support piece that sits behind a growing line of artifacts and asks the deck to be two things at once, an aggressive attacker and a value machine, without fully committing to either.
