Longbow Archer
A two-mana 2/2 that hands an aggressive white deck two of the keywords it most wants on one body, priced so sharp that the double-white cost reads as the only real tax. First strike turns it into a wall against anything its own size: it kills attacking 2/2s and 2/1s clean, taking no damage back, so the opponent's cheap creatures cannot trade into it without help. The catch the rate respects is that first strike stops mattering against bigger toughness; against a 3-toughness attacker the Archer lands its two, fails to kill, and dies to the return swing, which is precisely why a creature this defensively complete stays honest. Reach covers the other axis, letting a ground-bound two-power body answer the early fliers that fast white decks otherwise have no clean line against. The design logic is redundancy of roles compressed into one slot: ground stall and air defense from a single card, freeing your other plays to commit to the attack. The WW pip requirement is the cost, locking it to a committed white deck rather than a splash, and that color intensity is the second discipline keeping the package in check. Plenty of small white creatures since have stacked first strike and reach, but this is the clean template for the pairing: cheap, color-hungry, and built to outclass its own weight class on defense without ever needing to grow.
