Mass graveyard recursion in green usually charges by the card, and it always leaves the deckbuilder free to load up on redundancy. This one flips both assumptions. The "different mana values" clause is the real cost: the twelfth copy of your best three-drop is worthless here, because X counts distinct rungs on the curve, not raw card count. To hit eight returns you need eight cards spanning eight separate mana values in the yard, which asks for a genuinely varied curve rather than a stack of the same efficient piece. That threshold isn't decorative. Clearing it swaps your entire life total back to its starting number in the same breath as the refuel, turning a card-advantage spell into a full reset against any deck trying to grind or burn you out. The exile clause afterward means there's no looping it: this is a one-shot detonation you build the graveyard toward, spend, and lose. The design reads as green's answer to the perennial question of what a big recursive payoff should demand in return. Rather than the usual life payment or self-mill tax, it taxes deck diversity, rewarding the pile that spread its costs across the curve and punishing the one that leaned on four-ofs. The eight-card life reset is the kind of splashy secondary mode that only ever fires in the late game, which is precisely where a green ramp deck that has emptied its hand wants a second wind waiting in the yard.
