Knight tribal has always leaned on the graveyard as much as the battlefield: chivalry as a theme has produced sacrifice-friendly builds where the tribe's members trade eagerly, and this payoff converts that combat attrition into a resource engine. The trigger is specific about what it rewards, and the specificity does real work. Each nontoken Knight death drains the whole table for a point and refills your hand, so the incentive quietly discourages the go-wide token strategies other tribal payoffs court and instead prizes a deck full of real, individual Knights worth losing one at a time. Token Knights won't feed it, so the curve points toward expendable bodies you're happy to throw into unfavorable blocks, chump on defense, or sacrifice outright, because each of those deaths becomes simultaneous reach across every opponent and a fresh card. The 5/5 body with menace isn't the reason it's here: it's a serviceable attacker that keeps the payoff hard to remove in combat, but the value lives entirely in the death trigger. As a design it sits in the aristocrats-adjacent corner of tribal payoffs, where the deck wants creatures to die on purpose and needs a reason those deaths matter beyond the sacrifice outlet itself. The one-life-per-opponent clock is slow, but stacked across a board of trading Knights over several turns, the incremental parallel drain and the card flow do the work that a single splashy finisher can't.
