Lo and Li, Twin Tutors
A tutor stapled to a lord, which is a rarer design pairing than it sounds. Most search creatures fetch anything and hand you the payoff on a separate card; here the entering trigger and the static ability are aimed at the same two words. The tutor is deliberately narrow (a Lesson or a Noble, nothing else), and that narrowness is what lets the second line exist at all: an unrestricted five-mana tutor that also handed out lifelink to a full creature type would be pricing two effects into one slot with no discipline. Instead the card only pays off decks already committed to the Noble type or the Lesson subtheme, and the lifelink it grants is the reward for staying inside those lines rather than a splash of value on the side. The 2/2 body matters less than the fact that it converts each fetched Lesson and each Noble creature into an incremental life engine, so the tutor is not just finding a card but tuning the board it lands into. It reads as a build-around anchor: the kind of card that does very little in a pile of unrelated black cards and quite a lot in a deck constructed around the two subtypes it names.
