The joke and the design are the same thing: this stage hands the ability that made Llanowar Elves famous to every creature at the table, doubled to two green per tap. What was one elf's contribution becomes a board-wide mana font, turning any swarm into a river of green while the control player staring at an empty board gets nothing. The asymmetry is not in who receives the ability (everyone does) but in who has the payoffs to dump it into. A chaos trigger untaps your creatures, letting you empty and refill the reservoir mid-turn while opponents watch their own tapped bodies sit idle: that untap is the plane-format machinery, the mechanism that lets a go-wide board double back on itself for one explosive push. It borrows its name from the elf-choked forest that gave the game its oldest ramp creature, and it delivers on that flavor by scaling the whole ecosystem up rather than reprinting a single dork. This is ambient rules text built for a multiplayer variant that rewards going wide and going explosive, a small arena that returns the slow grind of ramp to the table as shared, combustible chaos.
