Llanowar Knight
Protection from black on a small white-green body is a hoser dressed as a beater, and the dressing is good enough that you can run it as a beater and let the hosing be a bonus. The keyword means this Elf Knight cannot be blocked by, targeted by, dealt damage by, or enchanted by anything black, which against an opponent leaning on black removal and black blockers turns an ordinary attacker into one that walks past half the cards across the table. The design is narrow by intent: a protection keyword is only worth its slot when the protected-from color is one you expect to face, and this card was built for an era that guaranteed black would be on the other side often enough to justify it. What is worth noticing is how cheaply the rate is bought. Protection is one of the strongest defensive keywords in the game, but pinned to a single color it costs almost nothing, so the body is priced as though the protection were an afterthought rather than the entire reason to play it. The Selesnya pairing is its own small statement, an Elf and a Knight stapled together into a creature whose whole job is to be the white-green answer to a mono-black opponent.
