Liliana's Scrounger
A support creature built to accelerate a single narrow payoff: the loyalty of a Liliana planeswalker. Planeswalker decks have always run into the same tension, that the walker's most game-warping abilities sit two or three activations away from the starting count, and the turns spent laddering up are turns the walker is exposed to attacks. This body answers that by feeding loyalty from the aristocrat side of the table, converting the creature attrition a Liliana deck is already generating into counters that shorten the climb to an ultimate. The trigger is patient: it fires at each end step and adds only one counter, and only if something died, so the reward accrues to a board built to trade bodies over several turns instead of a single explosive moment. Its own 3/2 frame does double duty here, since it can pressure the opponent as an attacker while other creatures trade to satisfy the death condition it cares about. Read narrowly it is a fringe piece, keyed to one planeswalker lineage and dead when that lineage is absent. Read as design, it is a rare instance of a creature whose entire job is to protect and empower a specific ally on the far side of the card-type divide, a bodyguard printed for one family name.
