Two hosers stapled into one, and the second clause is what earns the card. "Players can't gain life" is a static lock that shuts down a whole strategy by itself, but "damage can't be prevented" is the line that matters in a burn deck's hands: it strips away fog effects, prevention shields, and the protection clauses a defending player uses to buy a turn against a clock. The two abilities pull in the same direction, which is the point. Against a deck trying to outlast aggression, this closes both the door and the window.

The free deployment is the real design lever, and it's an unkeyworded static ability shared across a cycle of enchantments rather than a named mechanic. Paying four mana for an enchantment that does nothing to the board is a hard sell when it has to be cast normally; offering it for free out of the opening hand changes the math entirely. A turn-zero drop means the lock is online before the opponent has made a decision, which is exactly when an anti-attrition piece wants to land. The trade is consistency: you accept the risk of drawing it later, dead and uncastable for value, in exchange for the games where it sits on the table before anyone has untapped. That gamble is the identity of the whole cycle, and this one aims it squarely at the lifegain-and-prevention axis that slows red decks down.
