Aggression here pays twice, but only on the installment plan. The 2/2 body wants to attack regardless, and the first strike it carries during your turn makes it a threat in your own combat step while conceding nothing on defense: it reverts to a plain 2/2 the moment the turn passes. That timing detail is the point. It rewards being the beatdown without pretending to be a wall. The gating on the graveyard clause is where the discipline lives. Speed is a designation you carry, not a property of the card: it begins at 1 if you have none, then ticks up once per turn whenever you've drawn blood, so reaching the ceiling of 4 demands several turns of pressure landing. Only then does the recursion clause come online, and even then it is a one-shot: pay three, exile the card from your yard, draw once. This is not a card-advantage engine you tap early; it is a single refuel you earn through pressure and cash after the aggression has already done its work. A creature that dug for cards immediately would warp a curve; one that only does so after multiple turns of chipping is asking for exactly the game state a fast white deck already wants. The result is a body that fights well early and refuses to be a dead draw late, its payoff priced against how much damage it takes to unlock the reward.
