Latulla's Orders

Enchantment — Aura1 generic manaRed mana

Flash on an Aura is the design move worth pausing over here: it lets the artifact destruction land as an ambush rather than a telegraphed pre-combat commitment. The clause only fires after the enchanted creature deals combat damage to the defending player, so the payoff is gated behind a successful attack, but Flash means you can hold the Aura until a creature has already broken through, then drop it and turn a damage step into artifact removal you never advertised. Functionally it is a conditional Shatter stapled to an attacker, the condition being combat damage and the price being the tempo of casting an Aura at instant speed. The combat-damage trigger and the target restriction (an artifact controlled by the player taking the hit) keep the destruction from ever being guaranteed or available against a defensive board that simply refuses to take damage. It sits with a handful of red effects that treat artifact hate as a combat reward rather than a clean answer, asking you to be ahead on the board before you collect. That is a strange place for removal to live, and the reason the card stays a footnote: most decks that want a Shatter want it unconditionally, not bundled with a precondition that only matters when they were already winning the race.
