Lantern of Insight

Artifact1 generic mana

Information made symmetrical, then weaponized for one side only. The reveal clause shows everyone the top of every library, which sounds like a fair trade until you consider who actually built their deck to care: a player who knows their own draws can play around the opponent's top card, while the opponent gains nothing they can act on. That asymmetry of preparation is what gives the artifact its purpose, and it found its true home alongside library manipulation that turns a passive reveal into hard control. Paired with effects that exile or reorder the top card, this becomes the seeing half of a lock: you know exactly what the opponent will draw, so you remove it before they ever touch it. The sacrifice-shuffle ability is the safety valve, a way to scramble a stacked library or reset your own when the top card is dead, but in the lock it is mostly insurance. A one-mana artifact with no board presence and no clock, it leans entirely on the deckbuilder to supply the rest: the interaction that acts on the information, the engine that makes perfect information a prison rather than a curiosity. Standing alone it is a window into both libraries. Built around, it is the eye of a prison-control shell that wins not by attacking the opponent's life total but by attacking their draw step, one known card at a time.
