Artifact3 generic mana

At its floor this is an ordinary mana rock: remove zero counters and you tap for one colorless every turn, no setup required. The interesting part is what happens when you choose not to cash out. Each turn you can instead pay one mana to bank a counter, and the net of any charge-and-release cycle is always exactly plus one: spend one to store one, eventually tap to drain X counters for X plus one. The arithmetic never improves no matter how long you wait, so the card is not an accelerator in the sense its era's broken artifacts were. What it sells is timing. Mana you would lose at the end of a phase gets converted into stored charge counters that persist across turns, then released all at once into a single instant-speed burst far larger than your land count would normally allow. The design discipline keeping that in check is the tax-and-tap gate: building the reserve costs one mana per counter and only one increment per turn, so a large pile demands real patience and a real opportunity cost. The product, then, is the ability to hold colorless mana past your phase and unload it on your own schedule, an effect the rules otherwise forbid, in exchange for spending several turns assembling it ahead of the moment you need it.
