The interesting wrinkle here is the delay, and the way that delay is decoupled from the permanent that triggers it. The card-drawing auras of this era mostly replaced themselves on entry: the cantrip fired as part of resolution, and the body-pump came along for free. This one defers the draw to the beginning of the next turn's upkeep, which usually means the opponent's upkeep, not yours, since their turn is the one that immediately follows your cast. The crucial mechanical point is that the draw is locked in the moment the enter trigger resolves. Removing the creature, bouncing the Aura, or sacrificing it afterward strips the +1/+1 and the enchantment itself, but by then the deferred draw is a free-floating trigger; the card still arrives regardless of whether the Aura is still on the battlefield. So the delay is not fragility, it is tempo: you pay full price up front and collect the card a turn later, which is the design's quiet way of pricing the cantrip below a true replacement effect. The buff and the eventual card cost less because you wait for the payoff (and because that wait spans an opponent's turn, the draw can even survive a creature you no longer control). Mechanically it is a footnote in the long evolution of cantrip auras, most of which learned to draw on resolution rather than route the card through a delayed trigger; the fetish framing is flavor texture from a set built around a frozen, primitive world.
