Kozilek's Shrieker
A 3/2 for three is a fair opening rate, but the design lives entirely in what colorless mana lets that body become. The activation is a mana sink that converts the Eldrazi's signature colorless symbol into combat pressure: pump the power and grant menace, repeatable as long as there is colorless left to feed it. That repeatability is the point. A creature that gains menace each turn forces the defender to commit two blockers or take the hit, and the pump stacks on top, so a ground stall that looks survivable unravels once the colorless starts flowing. This is a closer built to spend the surplus colorless a ramp-toward-Eldrazi shell tends to flood the board with, the mana that would otherwise sit idle once the fatties resolve. Devoid is worth reading honestly here, because it cuts against instinct: making the creature colorless is not protection, it is a liability against a category of removal. Black creatures usually enjoy a quiet upside against spells that name nonblack targets (the old Doom Blade, Terror line, and their descendants), and stripping the color away hands that reach back to the opponent. What Devoid does buy is consistency of presentation and immunity to color-keyed anthems and cost reducers, none of which is armor. The drone is identity first: a payoff that asks only that the deck around it already produce more colorless than it knows what to do with.
