Every mode of a Command scales off the same X, and that single dial is the wrinkle that turns a menu into an engine. The Spawn tokens don't just make bodies: each one sacrifices for colorless mana, so the ramp mode quietly rebates part of the spell's own cost and feeds the next X you cast. Pair token generation with the scry-and-draw mode and one X develops the board while refilling the hand. Pair exile-a-creature with graveyard hate and you have interaction that sidesteps recursion and indestructibility alike, because exiling by mana value cares nothing for a creature's resilience. That resolves an old problem with colorless removal, which tended to be either too narrow or too expensive: attaching the exile mode to an X you were already paying for keeps it live deep into a game without leaving it dead on turn two. The colorless pips in the cost are what anchors the whole thing to Eldrazi economies rather than a free splash, rewarding decks already built on colorless sources; the instant speed lets you hold both chosen modes for the precise stack window where a scry-into-draw or a graveyard exile swings a turn. The Command contract asks every mode to carry its own weight so modularity never becomes a tax, and here that contract is bent toward the Eldrazi's mana ledger: the ramp mode isn't a side option, it partially pays for the interaction stapled next to it.
