Knight of New Benalia

Creature — Human Knight1 generic manaWhite mana

Three power for two mana, undone by the single point of toughness behind it. This is the white version of a design template as old as the game: trade durability for raw beatdown, then leave it to the deck around the creature to cover the gap. A 3/1 dies to any chip of damage, any one-toughness ping, any blocker that survives the trade, so the card is built to attack into open boards and apply pressure before opponents stabilize, not to hold a line or trade favorably in combat. The Knight type and white color place it squarely in the historical lineage of aggressive one- and two-drop weenies whose job is to push the curve, the kind of body anthem effects and combat tricks reward most because a single +1/+1 turns a glass cannon into something that survives a swing. There is no evasion, no protection, no upside text to soften the fragility: the rate is the entire pitch, and the toughness is the whole price. That austerity is itself the point. Some white aggressive creatures earn their slot with a keyword or a triggered ability; this one earns it on the strength of a number, and asks the deck to decide whether three damage the turn after it lands is worth a creature this easy to answer.
