Artifact — Clue EquipmentRed mana

Two cards' worth of design stapled onto one artifact, and the staple is the whole idea. The Clue subtype gives you the familiar exit: pay two, crack it for a card, and the Equipment goes to the graveyard whether or not it ever touched a creature. That is the floor. The Equipment half turns the same object into a red aggressive tool, but only during your turn, a restriction that neatly walls it off from the defensive value first strike usually provides. You do not get the blowout in your opponent's combat step; you get a creature that hits a little harder and trades up when you are the one attacking. The asymmetry is the point. This is a card that never sits dead: early, it suits up a threat and buys a couple of extra damage; later, once the board has stalled or the equipped body is gone, it converts into a replacement draw and clears itself off the battlefield. The two abilities are built to fail gracefully into each other, so the equip cost is never a sunk investment. What makes the split coherent rather than muddled is that both modes serve the same clock: press the attack now, refuel when the attack runs out.
