Kindred Dominance

Wrath effects are a black staple with a familiar tax: to sweep the board, you sweep your own side too. This one changes the exchange by handing you the chosen type before it fires, so a deck built around a single creature type keeps its army and dismantles everyone else's. The math is the whole appeal. Against a shared creature type it spares both sides; against a table full of unrelated threats it functions closer to a one-sided board wipe, and the more homogeneous your own board, the more asymmetric the result. That asymmetry is what justifies the price: seven mana buys you a wrath that reads as symmetrical on the card but resolves lopsided in the deck it was made for. It rewards commitment rather than punishing it, inverting the usual rule that going wide is what makes you vulnerable to the sweeper. The kindred framing is not incidental flavor here; it is the mechanical hinge. A board wipe that spares Goblins, or Elves, or Dragons is only worth building around if your deck has already decided what it is, and this card asks that question at seven mana and rewards a clean answer. Outside a committed tribal shell it is a slow, expensive, and often self-destructive sweeper; inside one it is a reset button that only the opponents have to fear.
