Keeneye Aven

Creature — Bird Soldier3 generic manaBlue mana

Built so it is never a dead draw: when the board wants a flyer, you get an evasive 2/3 for four mana; when it wants gas instead, you pay two to cycle it into a fresh card. That floor is the entire reason this kind of creature exists. A plain flyer at this rate was always going to be a marginal inclusion, so the cycling cost converts the worst case (drawing a body you do not need) into a frictionless trade for a card you might. The design lineage runs straight back to the cycling commons of the late-Urza era, where the keyword was invented precisely to smooth the curve of a deck that had to run filler. What this slot does is fold that smoothing into a creature that can still block a flyer, trade up against an aggressive draw, or chip in for two in the air when the game stalls. It is the kind of low-variance card that rarely headlines a list but quietly raises its floor: a creature engineered so it is never the reason you lose.
