Keen Buccaneer
Loot once, grow once, and never again: this 2/3 packages card selection and a permanent body upgrade into a single activation that spends itself on use. The generosity of drawing a card, discarding a card, and adding a +1/+1 counter in one shot is exactly the kind of value that would run away as a repeatable engine, so the exhaust clause caps it at a single fire. That single-use ceiling reshapes the sequencing math: there is no upside to holding the mana for a later turn, because nothing compounds and the counter matters more when it lands early, so the correct line is usually to loot on curve and get on with attacking. Vigilance carries the extra toughness across both halves of combat, so the counter that turns this into a 3/4 improves its attack without giving up the block. The result is a tempo-minded filler creature: a body with a stapled card-selection button, useful to smooth draws and push a modest clock, but never a build-around. Everything it is amounts to a one-time transaction, and its restraint is the whole point: a generous button that only presses once, rationed exactly to that.
