Red rarely gets to smooth its own curve, historically borrowing artifacts or a strained manabase to reach any splash it wants. Stapling a self-fetching Lander token onto an evasive four-drop is the trick here: the body is fine aggressive math, a 4/3 with menace that gets through while boards are thin, but the token grafts a ramp-and-fixing engine onto a threat rather than a dead do-nothing artifact. The catch is the built-in clock. That token sacrifices itself at the beginning of your next turn's end step, so you have a narrow window to spend the two mana and tap it before it evaporates, and the basic it fetches arrives tapped rather than ready. That timing pressure earns the whole package: you do not get a permanent value engine, you get a one-shot smoothing of your curve that must be cashed in promptly or lost entirely. It reframes what an aggressive red creature can carry, letting a beatdown deck reach a splash or hit its next land drop without cutting a threat, provided the pilot remembers to crack the token before the end step comes calling. Forget, and you have simply paid four mana for a menacing beater and nothing else.
