The mana here comes with a leash: five colors of it, every turn, from a four-mana flier any deck can afford, but none of it can be spent to cast the spells sitting in your hand. That single clause reroutes the entire payoff. What's left is mana for activated abilities, for X-costs paid in the activation window, for costs on the stack, for cards played from anywhere other than hand: flashback, foretell exile, adventure zones, impulse-drawn cards off other engines. The design redirects a ramp effect away from its obvious use and toward the sideways ones, and the WUBRG string means the redirected mana funds anything, not just red. The trigger fires on your first main phase (not upkeep, not each main phase), a front-loaded burst you take before committing to a turn, which rewards having the outlet ready over banking mana across phases. A 3/3 flier is incidental here, a body that pressures the air while the real work happens on the mana line. This is ramp for decks that don't want more spells cast the normal way, and that population is smaller and stranger than it looks.
