Kami of Old Stone

Creature — Spirit3 generic manaWhite mana

Seven toughness behind a single point of power gives white one of its tidiest stall plans, and this is among the leanest expressions of it: no protection clause, no lifegain rider, no flying, just a wall that happens to be a creature instead of a Wall. That body-type distinction is the entire design intent. As a Spirit rather than a Wall, it sidesteps defender's prohibition on attacking and answers the tribal callouts an early-era Spirit-matters environment cared about, which means it can swing when it needs to and stand in front of essentially anything that isn't an evasive haymaker. The math holds up against the aggressive curves of its day: one chosen attacker bounces off it cleanly each turn, and it survives most burn, most first strikers, most everything short of a dedicated removal spell or trample. What it gives up is any way to convert that durability into pressure or card advantage on its own. It is a speed bump, full stop, the kind of stabilizing four-drop a defensive white deck runs to buy turns rather than to win the game. The Spirit type is the only thing that separates it from a long line of functionally similar fat-butt blockers, and when a creature-tribal wall plan needs a body that blocks forever and still counts toward the tribe, this is occasionally the reason it holds together at all.
