The promise is that a 9/9 nobody can Doom Blade or Pacify stomps in two hits and laughs off targeted removal entirely; the cost is that you cannot target it with pump, regeneration, trample, or a single Aura. It is the rare beater that locks its own door, immune to the opponent's spells but equally walled off from your own combat tricks and enchantment-based finishers. Seven mana for vanilla-plus-untargetable stats puts it squarely in the lineage of big-dumb green creatures whose only plan is to attack, and the protection is supposed to be the upgrade that justifies the rate. In practice it papers over one weakness while opening another: edicts, board wipes, chump blocks, and gang-blocks all sidestep shroud cleanly, so the keyword that reads like resilience really only answers the narrowest slice of interaction. The honest read is that this is a teaching design as much as a tournament one, a clean illustration of why untargetability is a defensive keyword and not an offensive one, and why a creature you cannot target is also a creature you cannot help.
