The flip condition names the player it was built for: someone willing to hoard past the point most decks would have spent. Nine cards in hand sits two over the discard limit, so the unflipped side is a slow, repeatable draw engine that demands you let your hand swell rather than commit it to the board, paying three mana per tap to inch toward the threshold. That patience is the whole transaction. The reward, once it flips, is a Wizard that hands a single player a draw burst equal to the number of cards you are holding: the bigger the hoard you built getting here, the more it pours out in one activation, and crucially it counts your hand rather than spending it, so the cards stay put while you draw. The flip is the conceptually pure idea: a transformation tethered to a resource threshold rather than a board state, a death trigger, or a damage count, which separates it from most two-sided creatures of its era that key off combat. The friction is built into the front face and intentional: a nine-card hand is fragile against discard, and the engine asks you to spend turns idling rather than developing while you accumulate. The single-target back face is the quiet wrinkle, since it can point at an opponent as easily as at you: a pointed gift to a player who needs the cards, or a draw spell you simply aim at yourself.
