Two counter engines sit in the same body, and the tension between them is the whole design. Training rewards attacking alongside something bigger: swing a 2/2 into combat next to a heavier creature and it grows on its own, no investment beyond the attack step. First strike protects that growth, since the counter lands before damage resolves, letting a pumped attacker trade up rather than trade even. The second ability pulls in the opposite direction, keying off sacrificing Clues and Food to hand a counter to another creature you control. That splits the reward structure: one line makes this creature the anchor of an aggressive attack, the other makes it a factory feeding the rest of the board. The token synergy is unusual for a red-blue detective, tying investigate-style artifact fodder to a grow-your-team payoff normally at home in green. Partner with Madame Vastra hints at a second half to the design, an ability that reaches beyond this card alone. On its own the effect reads modest, a small creature with two small levers, wanting a wide, sacrifice-fueled board rather than a single threat to protect.
