Jace's Ingenuity

Instant3 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

Five mana for three cards at instant speed is the rate Wizards keeps circling back to whenever they want a draw spell fair decks can afford without breaking Standard. The lineage runs straight through the blue card-advantage canon: Concentrate moved three cards for four at sorcery speed a generation earlier, and this design spends an extra mana to buy the timing instead of the discount, sliding the same payoff onto the opponent's end step where it slots between countermagic and a fresh draw step without costing tempo on your own turn. That instant-speed window is the entire pitch. It lets a control deck represent interaction all turn, do nothing if the coast stays clear, then dump the held mana into a refill once the turn passes back, converting unspent reactivity into raw cards rather than wasting it. The cost is deliberate: at this price it is never the engine that runs away with a game, just the reload a tempo-neutral blue deck leans on after it has stabilized. The planeswalker tie-in is flavor, not function; strip the name and what remains is the textbook midrange refill, priced exactly where a three-card draw stops being oppressive and becomes a respectable curve-topper for decks that survive long enough to cast it.
