Ironroot Treefolk
A 3/5 with an empty text box reads like a museum piece now, but it once carried real weight: big enough to brick the era's two- and three-power attackers cold and still threaten a relevant clock if the board ever opened up. The design is the simplest possible expression of green's defensive lean, trading a point of power for two points of toughness against the curve's baseline and letting the wall-like back end do the work. The body itself has aged well enough; what marks it as an artifact is the total absence of text. Green would go on to learn how to staple trample, reach, ramp triggers, or fight effects onto bodies in this slot, and every one of those iterations is implicitly measured against this blank resume. The lineage runs through Spined Wurm and eventually the modern green five-drop that does three things on entry. This is the zero-point on that axis, the printed reminder of what a fair green creature looked like before the color learned to ask for more.
