The combat trigger does something quietly aggressive that most anthem effects only gesture at: it retargets every turn, and it works on artifacts as readily as creatures. Point it at a mana rock and you have a 5/5 flier swinging in; point it at a token that would otherwise chip for one, and it hits for five in the air. The "base power and toughness 5/5" clause carries the whole ability, because it overwrites rather than adds. On a small body that is a promotion; on a 6/6 it is a demotion, and that asymmetry is the lever the ability hands you: you always get flying and always get artifact-hood, and you choose which permanent wants the fixed statline. Turning a noncreature artifact into an attacker each combat also means the card manufactures a threat from a board that had none, a different job than pumping an existing team. The evergreen through-line is that this is an aggression engine dressed as a support piece: a 5/5 flier that also drafts a second 5/5 flier into the red zone every turn, with the flexibility to grant evasion and a body to whatever the moment needs. Because the trigger reads a single target, it never sprawls into a blanket buff; it is a scalpel that reshapes one permanent per combat.
