The 1/1 plus its 1/1 Ally token feeds any effect that counts creatures entering, tokens made, or Allies specifically, and it does that math at instant speed. You can hold it for an end step, spring it as an ambush blocker, or wait out a board wipe and rebuild after it resolves rather than committing bodies to a sweeper. That reactive window is what earns the otherwise unremarkable stats: a non-flash two-mana 1/1-plus-token on your main phase would be pure filler, but deploying it on the opponent's turn turns it into combat math they cannot plan around and keeps enter-the-battlefield triggers online without tipping your board early.
