Into the Fae Court

Sorcery3 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

Blue's five-mana refill sorceries have a long lineage, and most of them stop at the cards: draw and pass the turn. This one refuses to be dead the moment it resolves. Three cards is the guaranteed value, but the trailing clause staples a chump blocker to the spell, a flier that exists specifically to eat an incoming evasive creature or trade into the air. That is the tension worth pausing on. A pure five-mana draw-three does nothing to protect the caster who tapped out to cast it, and the classic knock on refill-your-hand sorceries is that they concede the turn to whatever the opponent does next. The Faerie is the concession fee, small but real: it does not block ground attackers, so it is no wall, but against the flying beaters that so often close blue's games it buys a turn or a favorable trade. The token can only block fliers, and that narrowness is deliberate: it stops the card from becoming a catch-all defensive tool while still answering the threats blue most needs to stall. It is a sorcery, so all of this happens on your own turn with the board fully visible; there is no ambush here, just a refill that leaves the caster slightly less exposed than the spells it descends from.
