Innocence Kami

Creature — Spirit3 generic manaWhite manaWhite mana

A tapper that recharges itself off your own gameplan: the activated ability locks down a blocker or an attacker for a single white mana, and every Spirit or Arcane spell you cast unwinds the tap so it can do it again the same turn. That untap clause is the whole pivot of the design. A vanilla tapper is a once-per-turn proposition, throttled by its own summoning sickness on the lockdown; tying the reset to spellcasting turns the rate from "tap one creature" into "tap one creature for each spell you can chain," which in a deck built on the Spirit-Arcane spell-matters mechanic of its era was a genuine flood of tempo. It rewards the same trigger density that the splice and Arcane payoffs of the period were all chasing, but from the defensive side: instead of generating cards or damage, it generates repeated taps, neutralizing combat math turn after turn. The body is incidental; the engine is the point, and it only runs in a shell dense enough with Spirits and Arcane spells to keep the untap fed. Strip that context away and the ability deflates back to a slow, single-use lock that ties up your white mana and stays tapped once it has fired, which is exactly the constraint the designers built in: the reusable tap is payment for committing to the archetype.
