Ink Dissolver

Kinship asked a strange thing of a deck: to build your creatures around one tribe so densely that your next draw reliably matched, then to cash that match for an effect each turn. Here the payoff is mill, three cards per upkeep off each opponent, gated behind a Merfolk Wizard's worth of overlap with the card waiting to be drawn. The trouble is the math the ability never lets you cheat. You only mill if the revealed card shares a type, and you only know whether it does after you peek, so the engine runs on a probability you control entirely through deckbuilding density. A Merfolk-saturated list flips the trigger on most turns; a list that hedged toward generic value cards leaves the 2/1 body trading down and little else. That is the honest tension in Ink Dissolver: the reward scales with how narrow you were willing to build, and narrowness costs you everything you couldn't include. Three mill a turn was never going to deck anyone fast, which marks this less as a clock than as a synergy payoff, a reason to run more Merfolk and Wizards than you otherwise would. It sits in the lineage of slow, conditional graveyard-fillers that read as inevitable on paper and demand patience in practice, the kind of card whose ceiling is a tightly themed board and whose floor is a fragile two-drop you'd rather not have drawn.
