Infernal Scarring

The trade in aggressive black has always been the same: how do you push damage without the empty board that a removed attacker leaves behind? This Aura answers by stapling a replacement draw to the very threat it pumps. The +2/+0 turns a small creature into a real clock, and the death trigger means the inevitable chump-block, removal spell, or bad attack cashes the body in for a fresh card. The cleverness is in how it addresses the Aura's structural liability. Auras bleed card disadvantage: kill the creature and the enchantment dies with it, a two-for-one in the opponent's favor. By making the enchanted creature's death draw a card, this softens that math rather than erasing it. A clean removal spell still nets your opponent value (you lose the creature and the Aura, you draw one back), but the exchange is far less lopsided than the usual Aura blowout, and the draw comes on your own death trigger rather than theirs. That points it at cheap, expendable bodies, where the buff matters most and the loss matters least, not at a marquee threat you actually want to protect. It functions less as a build-around than as glue for low-curve black aggro, a deck that needs to keep its hand full while feeding creatures into the red zone every turn. The design is unflashy on purpose: a modest pump plus a cantrip-on-death, priced to slot into a curve rather than anchor a strategy.
