Infernal Medusa

Creature — Gorgon3 generic manaBlack manaBlack mana

Gorgons in Magic almost always cash in their mythology the same way: a deathtouch keyword, a stare-and-die triggered ability, sometimes a tap effect that punishes the blocker. This one predates the vocabulary. Designed in an era before deathtouch was a keyword (and before "destroy" had been disentangled from combat damage), the card encodes the petrification flavor as a pair of mirrored combat triggers: one for when it blocks, one for when it is blocked. The end-of-combat delay is the structural quirk worth noticing. A modern deathtouch gorgon kills its dance partner in the damage step, which means trample, first strike, and damage-prevention all interact cleanly. Here the destruction is bolted to the end-of-combat step, so the blocker (or attacker) gets its combat damage through first, and any effect that exiles, bounces, or sacrifices the doomed creature before the step ends saves it. The non-Wall clause on the second trigger is the other fossil: a Legends-era acknowledgment that Walls were a distinct combat object whose flavor (and rules treatment) needed carving out, rather than a creature subtype that happened to have defender. The result is a gorgon built out of timing rules instead of keywords, doing roughly the same work as its descendants by a longer route.
