Inevitable End

Most creature removal answers the body directly: kill it, exile it, bounce it. This works from the opposite direction, leaving the target alive but forcing its controller to sacrifice a creature every upkeep. Attach it to an opponent's only threat and you have a slow, self-completing removal spell: the enchanted creature is the first thing sacrificed the moment they run out of other bodies. Attach it to your own creature, though, and the same clause becomes a repeatable sacrifice engine, feeding aristocrat payoffs and death triggers without needing a separate outlet. That dual-use is the whole design: an Aura that reads as removal against one player and as fuel for another, depending on which side of the board it lands on. The friction is the timing and the ownership. Because the ability is granted to the enchanted creature, it fires on that creature's controller's upkeep, so whoever controls it gets to choose which of their creatures dies. Against an opponent running multiple bodies, that choice lets them feed something expendable and keep the threat alive; against a solo threat, they can bounce or protect the enchanted creature before the trigger resolves. It rewards boards where the sacrifice is a downside for them and an upside for you, a narrower band than a straight kill spell but a deeper one. The lineage runs back through cards that punish attrition rather than remove a threat outright; here the punishment is folded into an Aura cheap enough to stick early and let the accounting do the work.
